237 - A God, Ascending
Lin
Today I took my last anti-anxiety pill.
We'll see how I fare over the weekend without them.
Frankly, I've been quite shaky.
Curing my anxiety isn't as clear cut as I would like it to be, but I'm willing to try.
It's been said that withdrawal is rough.
Somehow, though, I feel I'll be ok.
As long as I keep doing my best to take care of myself, it doesn't matter.
Now that I know I'll be moving out within the next few weeks, things are falling into place.
Maybe it's just a matter of figuring out what keeps me grounded for long periods of time.
Given that my anxiety often has me rooting myself to the spot, as moving makes it worse, I think that I may need to figure out what other sensory things I can use consistently.
Reiki seems to be helping, and whilst people think it's tiring, I actually really enjoy it.
Experiencing the sensations that come with the healing let me know that I'm alive, and that it's working.
Just as I'm thinking this, Granna gently taps me on the head.
Do you want to go to Rennes?
Perhaps now is a time for such healing.
Ya!
She smiles.
Wonderful. We're staying at your aunt's.
I cast her a questioning look.
Artio.
Laughing at my enthusiasm, she ruffles my hair.
Very excited, aren't we?
I did say they would be.
Terrence drapes his arms around my shoulders, and I sigh blissfully.
I think this will be fun for you, lovely.
I nod, finding myself more joyous than I expected to be.
Are we all going?
Granna nods.
You, your father, your husband, myself, Nantosuelta, Vesunna, Cathy and Esus are going. We may end up seeing Belenos there. I know that your mother and brother are staying over as well.
Yay! Family gathering!
Wizard!
Turning to Terrence, I grin.
This is going to be so much fun.
He smiles, handing me my coat.
Then let's go.
Pulling on my boots, followed by my coat, I trail him out into the warm night air.
It really is summer.
The skies are clear, filled with a tapestry of stars smiling down on us. I've always loved stars.
He wraps an arm around my waist, taking in the view with me as everyone else loads up the car.
I was going to insist on helping, but Esus and Cathy are already helping Taranis, and your Granna kind of pushed me towards you, so...
I shake my head.
When there's that many family members, they'll do that.
True. I guess it's been a while since I spent an extended holiday with the in-laws.
I smicker.
Are you enjoying it?
He reflects my expression back at me.
Of course. I get to spend it with you.
Yo, lovebirds!
Cathy pokes her head out of the passenger door, smirking.
Get your asses in the car!
We both snort, and take Cathy's cue, taking the two back seats in Aventana's ten seater. There's a reason there are eight doors on this car. We belt up, and I check my phone to see a message from my Granda.
Don't tell your Granna. 😉
Grinning, I quietly put my phone on standby.
What?
Nothing.
Lin.
Leaning in close, I murmur.
We have an extra guest.
Ahhhh.
He nods, smiling.
This looks to be even more fun than expected.
Right?
Aventana starts the car, and we begin our journey to Rennes.
*******
Aventana
Before we get to Rennes, I stop in Lamballe to get us all food and a much needed break from travelling. Here, there's something I want to introduce to Lin before we see their mother again.
You're going to love this.
As we approach the building, which looks very much like an old style barn, Lin pipes up.
Where are we?
I smile.
Haras National de Lamballe.
Ya, I'm taking them to a historical stable. Why? Because Lin's relationship with horses is in need of some serious healing right now, and that is a major part of their ancestry.
I lead everyone through the exhibits for postal horses, carriages and the like, and we end up at the stables, tour guide by our side as we're greeted by the horses in their stables.
When one dapple grey horse snorts as Lin gets close to his section, the tour guide stares in surprise.
Loar hates people.
Yet somehow, Loar is just fine with Lin gently stroking his face, and nickers when Lin's about to step back. Tears form in their eyes.
I know, buddy. Karout a ran ac'hanout.
He's never this friendly. How?
I smile.
It runs in the blood. They may not realise it now, but horses truly love Lin. It's wonderful to watch, is it not?
The tour guide nods, beaming.
I was always hoping that he'd find a friend. How about when you next come here, he can go with you? Or you can send someone here to collect him?
Lin stares at us both incredulously, and Loar whinnies.
The horse has spoken, Lin. He's yours now.
Their face lights up, and I can sense them doing their best to contain their excitement. Loar seems to pick up on this, and snorts, gently nudging Lin, which they respond to with a giggle.
They take the tour guide's hands in theirs.
Trugarez, mignon. Consider yourself a friend of ours now.
She smiles.
Ma plijadur. Take care of him!
I will!
As we leave Haras National de Lamballe, heading for Rennes, I smile.
May Lin find even more joyous moments like this, and may my grandchildren prosper, now and always.
Elevios.
