238 - A God, Welcome

Lin

Pleasantly, today has been much easier than I previously anticipated.

Though my appetite is slightly heightened, which does concern me.

Luckily, I have enough food for the next day or so, which should suffice.

Once Monday rolls around, I'll probably be fine.

Yet again, I have been using much of my time to heal.

And I've been liking what I find.

From what I can see, things really do line up.

Hopefully I'll see more physical evidence soon.

We arrive at Artio's, greeted by my Maman, Olly and Artio herself.

My loves!

I take all of them in a warm embrace, and I hear Granna chuckle behind me.

Judging by Tavi's reaction, I assume we're all enthusiastic to be here.

Smiling, Artio ruffles my hair.

Come on in.

Entering the house, we're led to the cloak room to leave our coats and shoes behind. As I'm about to finish taking my coat off, I notice my Granda sneaking up on my Granna. He taps her lightly on the shoulder, and upon seeing him, she chortles.

You should've told me you'd be here!

Grinning, Granda draws Granna into a bear hug.

But that would've spoiled the surprise, my love.

As this exchange goes on, Terrence catches my gaze, and we both smicker.

That was worth being quiet about.

Agreed.

Wrapping an arm around my waist, Terrence leads me into the house, leaving my grandparents to spend some one on one time together.

My Maman waves us over, beaming.

You're all probably hungry!

I nod, and Terrence smiles.

Andouillettes-frites?

Trying to contain my excitement and failing miserably, I quietly dance on the spot, at which my Maman giggles.

That's a ya.

Andouillette is basically a non smoked variation of andouille, both of which I love. Andouillette frites is a dish very similar to sausage and chips, which was probably why said sausage and chips was one of the few dishes I would eat after I was first kidnapped by the voldys.

It's also a very difficult dish to bug, which was something I figured out early on.

Artio dials the number for the best place in town that does it, and takes everyone else's orders.

No cooking today, we're eating well.

I can't help but smile. It's been a while since we all ate together, and ancestral food at that.

Also, we're getting cider. Now that you're off meds, you probably can have it. Breton cider isn't all that strong anyway.

Sweet cider?

Ya. We know that's your favourite.

We also have a special one made from late season apples if you want to try it - perfect for today.

I nod vigorously.

Just as I respond, the doorbell rings, and Artio answers. Shortly after, she walks through, carrying our orders. I know there's a lot, so I offer to help, which she greatly appreciates. We serve everything up, chatting as we do, and Cathy gets the expensive cider out to pour for all of us.

With that, now that everything's laid out, Artio raises a toast.

To family, and to returning home.

Welcome home, Lin.

Blinking back tears, I smile, raising my glass.

Yec'hed mat!
