240 - A God, Hot
Lin
Today has been absolutely wonderful.
Me and my caseworker had a catch up, and everything looks to be getting sorted out soon.
Also, I managed to print off some forms that I need to send to the Pottergate centre.
We'll see whether or not I'm up for taking a walk there tomorrow, given how ridiculously hot the weather has been.
I have so much hope in my heart now.
Frankly, it seems that things are looking up - and that makes me so happy.
Yet another thing that has been said that's brilliant news is that we're supposed to be getting a new neighbour.
Which means that bin boy has to take his things out of the house.
Something like that is a huge cause for celebration, of course.
Perhaps I'll raise a glass to it. Bailey's sounds wonderful right about now, especially given the fact that I'm now off of my meds.
Due to today's heat, myself, Terrence and the rest of my family opted to stay in.
Even Artio, who is known to love clement weather, refused to go out.
Luckily, the storms that came out today made the heat somewhat bearable.
But at the same time, it felt almost like subtropical conditions - and I should know, I've had enough holidays in Florida to recognise the sheer humidity that came up after the thunder.
Just as I'm thinking this, my Da walks into the living room with one of our Dyson air conditioners (which, in winter, also doubles as a heater).
Trugarez.
Once he finishes setting it up, he smiles, and ruffles my hair.
Ma plijadur, ma bugel.
Now that I think about it, today's storms were more intense than I ever remember them being.
I wonder...
The doorbell rings, interrupting my train of thought, and Da answers it with mirth, welcoming in yet another guest. It's just who I was thinking of.
Nozvezh vat, uncle!
Loucetios grins, ruffling my hair before pulling me into a bear hug.
It's good to see you too, kid.
As most of us are still awake, it seems that curiosity has gotten the better of my family, as they too greet Loucetios with fervour, and I giggle.
What are the odds that Loucetios would turn up now, too?
Terrence has his arm around my waist, which lends me a sense of comfort I didn't realise I was missing.
It's a mass family gathering. It makes me think.
He casts me a questioning look, and I continue.
Do you think we're awakening?
What do you mean?
I elaborate.
As in, do you think that perhaps we're in for a Gaulish uprising?
Terrence pauses.
Well, it wouldn't surprise me, given that all rule of the Sim has now been given to you. But would it technically be called an uprising, or simply a new era?
He has a point. What is there to revolt against now that I rule?
Maybe it's all of us rising together.
He smiles.
Now that, I can get behind.
He gently squeezes my hip, and I smicker.
Somehow, it feels like we're all going to be seen and heard again soon.
He nods as we watch everyone continue to give love to my uncle.
I've felt it, too. I think it's because of you.
My face grows warm, and he smirks.
There's no need to be humble about it, lovely. We all know.
We do.
Loucetios pats my head as he shuffles past us to sit with everyone in the living room, coaxing us to come too. We follow as everyone seems to be discussing what to watch, and in this moment, I feel like I truly have a family, that everyone here truly loves me, and each other.
And maybe this is what evolution looks like.
Love.
